84. The Professions of Our Sages 84. The Professions of Our SagesHaShoneh Halachos for Thursday, October 1, 2015 Talmud Torah 1:9 Some of our greatest Sages included wood-choppers, water-drawers and blind men. Despite this, they occupied themselves with Torah study by day and night and they are included in the chain of those who transmitted the Torah from our teacher Moshe. Talmud Torah 1:10 A person is obligated to study Torah until the day he dies, as per Deuteronomy 4:9, “Lest you remove it from your heart all the days of your life.” If a person is not involved with Torah study, he forgets what he has learned.
